Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Design Services
Option 1:
Sketch a plan at the Garden Center and pick out your materials. Mickman Brothers will mail you (or you can pick up) a design packet that includes a plant catalog, a landscape planner, and instructions. Fill out the planner that will ask you some questions you might not have considered, and sketch your house and sidewalk areas, etc. in pencil on the graph paper provided. The goal is to have a goodidea of your desires and favorite plants before you sit down with the designer. After filling out the paperwork, bring in the planner along with some photos of your project area, and our Garden Center Staff will work with you on the graph paper planner. The charge is $65 per hour for this service.

Option 2: Formal Do-It-Yourself Landscape Plan
Bring your filled out planner, photos, and ideas to an initial meeting with a Garden Center Designer. After a brief discussion, the designer will quote you a design fee and schedule a time that you can return to review your plan, and look at plants and materials. The charge is $65 per hour for this service, and the average cost will range from $100 to $450. Single Bloom Pond

Option 3: Home Site Visit
A Garden Center Designer may be available for a site visit to your home. This would be a minimum two-hour design fee. Again, it is to your advantage to have your homework done on the Landscape Planner package so you can get the maximum benefit of this service. The designer can complete a sketch plan and estimate at this meeting, or if you prefer a more formal plan, you will be quoted a design fee and set up a time to view your plan at the Garden Center and look at materials. If you are undecided whether you want to install the work yourself or have us install for you, this is a great options. The design fee for this service is $75 per hour. The average cost of a design will be $150 to $450.

Keep in mind that if you decide to have Mickman Brothers do the work for you, the design and consultation charge will be applied towards your project.
