The MNLA is the 1,200 firm trade association recognized by the Minnesota 'Green Industries' as being at the forefront in promoting all aspects of the horticulture industry. This embraces a multitude of activities including:

• Providing Business & Horticulture Educational opportunities for our members.
• Providing industry input into various governmental agencies including the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, and the Department of Natural Resources.
• Promoting Professionalism on both industry & personal levels.

Mickman Brothers has been more involved in the Irrigation and business aspects of the MNLA. The following are some of the activities of John Mickman within our trade association:

• 1990: Mickman Brothers joins forces with a number of other Landscape Irrigation firms to promote the entry of the Landscape Irrigation companies of Minnesota as a formal committee of the MNLA.
• 1991 - 1999: Chairman of the Landscape Irrigation Committee. John continues to serve on this committee.
• 1994 - present: Board of Directors.
• 1995 - present: Government Affairs Committee.
• 1998 - 2001: Landscape/Turf Maintenance Committee.
• 1999 - present: The Member Services Committee.
• 2000 - 2001: Secretary/Treasurer of the MNLA.
• 2002 - 2003: Vice President of the MNLA.
• 2004 - present: MNLA Foundation: Board of Trustees
• 2004 - present: President of the MNLA.
